I Am Groot!!!

The first pictures from Guardians of the Galaxy have been leaked online!

Although they do not show any of the star cast, they are good examples of what we can expect from the production value of the 2014 release. Guardians of the Galaxy is part of the next stage of Marvel Studio's cinematic universe, and an introduction to some of the most obscure an loved characters by comic fans worldwide. Interestingly enough, this week marks the second time actor Vin Diesel has teased a possible character detail for the part he may play in the vast spectrum of Marvel characters, soon to appear on screen.

Rumour suggested he may be voicing Ultron, the a.i. machine created by Henry Pym a.k.a Ant Man, who turns on his creator and attempts to destroy humanity. We now know that the highly anticipated sequel to 2012's The Avengers will be The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Confirming the character to appear in the movie, and linking it in some way to the recent storyline in the comics of the same name. This week however, it seems that with the ever-growing cast of Guardians, that Diesel himself may be voicing the character of Groot. A walking giant of a being, whose appearance resembles a large tree, and only ever says the following words... "I Am Groot". If these rumours are correct, Diesel may only be appearing in voice only. Not an entirely bad way of solidifying himself as part of one of the biggest movie franchises of all time.

Guardians of the Galaxy is due August 2014 and stars: Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, Dave Bautista (of WWE fame), and Glenn Close.

IMDB has Enzo Cilenti credited under rumoured for the part of Groot also.
